Private Aarhusian family foundation earmarks funding to projects during Music City Aarhus 2022

Four musical projects will have the possibility to be granted with each 250.000 kr. from the Gunnar and Kirsten Foundation in 2022 as they have decided to double this year’s donation in the name of music.

Every year Kirsten Overgaard Hjortholm Olsen and Gunnar Steen Jacobsen’s family foundation distribute four donations of each 250.000 kr. with the declared purpose of supporting the artistic and cultural life in Aarhus. In 2021 the foundation extraordinarily decided to double the number of donations on the occasion of Music City Aarhus 2022 by earmarking the four extra donations to projects during the music city year.

Music City Aarhus 2022 is excited about the extra number of donations:

“We are very grateful for the generous contribution to the music city year. The fact that the Kirsten and Gunnar foundation has decided to support our project with 1 million DKK shows a very important backing to our work in/of realising the music city year and gives us the opportunity to initiate even more exciting projects that will leave a musical imprint on 2022.” says Jesper Mardahl, head of secretariat in Music City Aarhus 2022.

The four donations must be applied directly at the Kirsten and Gunnar foundation and further information regarding the application can be found at
